There is a BIG difference between limiting God and abiding by Scripture. It is God who has made evolution impossible, by the laws of nature that He has put into place. You want to quote Jesus? How about going to the beginning of chapter 19?
"And He answered and said to them, 'Have ye not read, that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.'"
This doctrine of Jesus is based on a literal interpretation of Genesis 2. Which is based on a literal interpretation of Genesis 1. If you're going to quote Jesus, you have to be consistent.
Bottom line: God said that He did not use evolution to make this world (Genesis 1). That's why evolution is impossible.
I have compromised enough in my short life not to know the dangers of doing so. I therefore urge others not to do so, either. You may be offended, but I know what I'm talking about.

Scripture says that isn't a true statement.
Matthew 19:26 And looking at them Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Matthew 22:29 (KJV) Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
With God, ALL things are possible, including evolution. Why limit God?
Timothy,
